Hi:

This question is for Tordek:

You mentioned the 2nd edition. I have been looking, and thus far, i cant find it. I looked on e-bay, but all i saw was add-on maps of different places...or different quests; the guy said they were out of print, and a good add-on for the second edition. Do they still make the second edition? Or do i simply have to bide my time and wait for it to become available on e-bay? Any suggestions?

Thanks...

Hi:

Well...I went ahead and bought off eBay. They only cost me $14...erm...well, $26 when you count postage on that! But I priced the new versions and they were nearly $40! All the pieces and everything is there. Good order...well, apart from a little use!

Could someone tell me if this is a good version, or not!?

Um, they're about 20-30 years out of date. You're looking at first edition boks there, bud.

Honestly, the Hypertext d20 SRD is the only resource you'll need for a decent D&D session, plus it's free!

Hi:

So...I can use the boards and such...but the rules are wrong? Or did I just by a useless set? I thought I had done good. :(

As I said before:

First Edition rules are useless these days, unless you happen to find a group that wants to play under First Edition rules, which I really doubt. There were lots of things wrong with it, which is why Advanced Dungeons & Dragons -- and then Second Edition -- was made. Most people these days play 2nd or 3.5rd Edition.

Hi:

So I should buy 2nd edition rule books? It is not a total loss then? It doesn't matter what the game is...as long as you have the right rules? Is that correct? These boards will be good then?

What would you recomend I buy to make this workable? Everything i would need!?

Heh. I remember playing AD&D 2.0

I honestly prefer it over 3.5

:p

But now I just take stuff from both of them to help out with RPing. Yes, I know that its FFRP and we're trying to not have anything to do with it, but D&D does provide some nifty spells and ideas and guidelines for me.

If I can find anyone who still plays tabletop AD&D 2.0, then I'll definately be playing it.

:p

And Scorch, I can hook you up with several 3.5 websites if you want.

just say no to 3.5 basteredized edition
2.0 is what you want.
DDO is good, they keep raising the lvl for chars, only thing i dont like is being stuck doing the same thing over and over.

I have been involved in a 6 year campaign in the Mystara setting with 3.5 rules.

1 GM and 6 players.

2 of them have recently reached lvl 9 and the rest is lvl 8, but close to lvl-ing.

We play once every two weeks and when we can find the time we plan a weekend and rent a small place for the weekend.

It's one of the few things I am unwilling to sacrifice to make time for other things... like studying...
