PC versus Game Machines.

Hi:

I have played a lot of game consoles, such as, Texas Instruments, Spectrum, Nintendo, Atari, PS etc. I have never really made the transition to PC Games. I have played a few online games, but none of the games mentioned in this forum that I can see.

I love playing RP Games, such as the old Zelda, Final Fantasy and such. I play other games like the Grand Theft Auto's, Gran Turismo etc.. I am not really interested in buying PC Games that you pay extra for to play online. Are the games better for the PC? Or do you think they are all good in their own way?

I would love to play some new RPG games, on the PC. Does anyone have any favourites...a good list of non-online playable PC RPG games? Ones with really good stories, that you can play for a while. I have heard of games such as Age of Empires, and things like that. What do you think? Is there rpg series games on the PC as you might find on other consoles?

I started playing PC games with Ages Of Empires: Conqueror's Edition (sold in a store near you) - easy user interface, no online capability. That's about the online non-online game I know of that's really good :P

If you don't wanna spend $50 (last time I checked), Elder Scrolls III: Morrowing -OR- FATE (name of the game) is pretty cool - both games allow you to cheat via modding or ingame adds.

But......Oblivion is worth the $50 if you have $50 (I just don't, lol - spent it on WoW...)

er. Oblivion shouldn't be $50 right now. But it's definitely awesome, especially if you have a decent computer. On the XBox 360, it crashes a lot and has a lot of glitches. On the computer, those glitches can be more easily fixed than on a console version, there are few to no crashes and coding problems, PLUS you can modify the gameplay through, well, mods. There's Planet Elder Scrolls that you can visit to get some pretty cool mods, and if you want more just Google "oblivion mods."

I have been too busy with other games, though. If you want to check out old games for the PC that you can probably play on any computer, go to www.abandonia.com. Good quality old school fun right there.

Want some good strategy games? Check out Master of Orion 2 or Master of Magic. Want a nice strategy/rpg? Try anything from the Fallout series, or go get Jagged Alliance 2. Want a nice action game? Possibly check out Bioforge (though it is rather difficult if you're not a good gamer). Or, you could try out, say, Ultima 7, both parts I and II. Best of the Ultima series, IMO. Want an awesome shooter game? Go get Half Life, or Half Life 2. <3.

If you want any other specific genres, tell me. If you want some really specific help I can host the game online and send you a link (like I'd have to with Bioforge, and I really wouldn't like to do that.)

Hi:

Thanks. I like the sound of those games, and I will definetly be checking them out. I like the sound of the website for the older games...that sounds right up my street.

At the minute, I use a little (old) laptop, with wi-fi connection from my wifes computer. It is a pretty decent computer, so maybe I will claim it as my own, and check them out. Hope she doesn't mind too much! ;o)

My opinion is that why do u need any consoles when you have a PC?

There are illegal ways to get free games...

From P2P softwares like Limewire and Shareaza which you can download games from sources/seeds. But for that you need like Virtual ISO, BIN etc. loaders. Some situations also require cracks/keygens.

I would suggest you do this with a strong virus scans or firewalls because most of the files is at risk of iffecting your comp.

Bow, you know we do not promote piracy in this Clan. *Waggles finger at Bow* PM is the only way to hold professional conversations regarding freeware. BTW, I prefer getting free games the legal way, not the illegal way

Tara: Not entirely true. We can discuss it here, but it is forbidden to post links to content.
