Well, Curu, it may not be silly at its price...if there's such a good chance of getting wits, then it's a good way to power members, and thus a good investment.

It's also technically cheating. I thought that didn't need to be mentioned, but I guess it does.

Furthermore, why would we advocate people to leave our clan, for any reason? That's just bad policy.

What rule does it go against? It's like running from creatures over and over again wit thief skills, and gaining wits, but not losing quests.

Well, whatever you say. :?

Running from creatures is an unavoidable and intentional aspect of gameplay.

Repeatedly joining and quitting a Clan for the purpose of gaining Wits is not an intended outcome of that aspect of the game. It is considered bug abuse by the CIC.

"Bug abuse?" Eh, I'll buy that. Although it seems like more of an oversight on Fred's part, and maybe one someone should report to him.

it's auctually not an oversight because, afterall, he/they did program it INTO the game

But may be an undersight? Not thinking people would use it to *just* gain stats.

Besides, petitioning/quiting clans take up quests AND money and you don't gain much exp PLUS the ratio of gaining a single stat per "quest" isn't as good as questing.

Curu: you could make a dummy clan and do it yourself... as a matter of fact, I've done that experiment. It was not really useful back when questing from the docks had a chance to give you wits, but now it might be attractive to low stat heroes that cannot quest in azteca and shangala...

quitting: 25/wits to gain wits and 25/charm to get charm. (takes 5 quests)
Create: 500/wits to gain wits and 500/charm to get charm (takes 75 quests)
Disband: 100/wits to gain wits and 100/charm to get charm (takes 15 quest)

So quitting and joining takes 6 quests, and gives a 25/wits chance. Questing in Azteca/Shangala/Dragon Mines and running from the aggresive creatures would net you a 30/wits chance if your routine was optimal

Creating and disbanding gives a total of 600/wits chance over 90 quests, and a succesful run-routine would give 450/wits chance.

I think it is worth another try :D

I understand how the actual stat bonus could be helpful, but i'm with Curu on this one... think about it this way... Its like singing up for the army, then getting DQ'd, over and over again... just to get the sign on bonus. It's just not morally right...
