As most of you have probably noticed, DC is in fact down. There have been speculation that Fred might be updating DC, however, I can say with a good amount of confidence that this is not true.


In the past when Fred was making an update, the following would happen, of which, none has happened this time.

1) DC test would be running the version of that would be DC would be upgraded to. Although DC test is indeed running a newer version, Fred has not implemented all the changes he said was going to, into it.

2) Fred takes down the game applet from the Game.stml page. Right now, the game applet is still there.

3) He would have given mods some sort of a heads up.



This is a server error... something with the recalling of the data on the server (when you try logging into your char, the char actually starts to load but then the invalid session error comes up). I just hope data hasn't been corrupted...

Aug 5 Update

I don't think anyone in DC1 knows of this yet, but I heard through the grapevine (apparently Fred told someone, that person told someone else and then that person told me) that Fred just got back from his trip a few days ago. In case you didn't know, he and his wife intended to go to Russia and adopt another child.

Although this isn't confirmed, I think this may be true. Cross your fingers that Fred sees that DC1 is down within the next few days and fixes it!

2007-08-06: The file system for the DCourt One host server has been changed to Read-Only. I can only assume this is the responsibility of my Florida ISP. I am contacting them now. If this is not resolved by wednesday, I will find a new host for DC1. -Fred-

dang havent even quested in like 4 days

i really really hope nothing gets lost... although, that would be a good way to remove all the hacked goods (but all the tiques )

EDIT: Crap! What about rust? Will that still be done on a day to day basis, even though we can't login? I haven't oiled everything to max yet.

I'm so worried that the characters will be lost and the forums of DC will die...

Rust will not be a problem, as rust only occurs on days when you log in. Since you can't log in, no rust.

I'm sure there are plenty of backups to the character info. We may lose a few days of the most recent questing, but unless there was a huge crash, we should be OK, I think.

Quark's right; rust shouldn't be a problem at all. I'm really not sure about backups though given that Fred hasn't been giving much attention to DC1 lately.

That said, have any mods received a response from Fred yet?

I might have an ace up my sleeve on finding out some inside information... but I don't know if it will work or not. But as soon as I find out something, I'll try to let everyone know.

...but of course, clannies get priority

Speaking of clannies, I put my request in like a month ago, and I still dont have member access, can someone do something about this?

I thought someone else was on top of that. I will try to do it today when I get home or sometime tomorrow.
