(OOC: I have been waiting for this :D )

*Feng was aware of the prospect of a fight for quite some time before the bandits made their appearance, he had almost given up hope that they would show up at all when they chose to show their hand. When the leader of the group had posed his "offer", Feng drew his great sword without being aware of his actions though the "shink" sound off of the scabbard made his thoughts quite clear. Seeing the render, feng's breathing quickened and his muscles flexed, ready for a fight, posing an open challenge.

When the bandits charged, feng looked outright depressed that the render stayed back to watch. Unsure of the meaning of it, he did what he could to provoke the beast, including throwing a few broken bandits to land in front of the beast. Looking around, feng was quite happy to see that his companions had as easy of a time with the group, but looked a bit worried that the fight was over. Making a very costly mistake in battle, he turned to check the group, seeing who had chosen to stay back and watch and to see if anyone was injured. The render was on top of him by the time he turned back around.

The beast connected with a full swipe of its arm, sending feng sprawling. He landed hard and rolled through the impact, standing in time to see the beast charging again. Though he had been hit and couldn't tell if he was hurt through the adrenaline, he showed a full smile now, exposing every last tooth available to his grin. The adrenaline was only the natural fighters instinct however, an old saying would flash through anyone's mind and make the smile completely reasonable: "You only feel the first hit."

Feng had his hit and was happy about it, he didn't have to think to get a rough calculation of the renders strength and ability, if he was careless, he could be hurt, if he was careful, he would be far too bored...*

"Youse wanna keep yer pet on a line?"

*The render closed in, feng braced for the impact and was almost caught by snapping jaws in place of the expected attack, off balance the next swipe connected hard, sending feng airborne. The laughter heard from the half-orc told the real tale, he was having a great time even if it would leave some very large bruises come morning.

Standing again, feng was starting to think that maybe things needed to be hurried along, the last blow had winded him for a moment and he was breathing heavy. It may be fun, but all good things must come to an end...*

(OOC: Left open to make sure everyone gets a shot who wants it, and I'm not sure I'm allowed to kill the render even if I really really really really really want too :P I would like a post close to if not the end of the fight if I may.)

As the bandits charged, Joe moved closer to Zip. Unsure of her ability to fight he put himself between her and the bandits that charged her way.

Without his magic, Joe was a bit limited, but still he didn't draw his sword. Instead, he kept both arms free to disarm the bandits as they came. The first of them was overzealous, and his sword slashed out recklessly. Joe flowed with his movement, catching the bandit in the wrist with a quick blow that made him drop his weapon. The next blow caught the bandit in the throat, and dropped him gasping to the ground. The next was a bit more cautious, but still found himself incapacitated with a broken knee before he knew what hit him. One more strike removed his sword from his grasp as well. The third bandit swung an instant before Joe expected it and his sword came only inches from Joe's face as he ducked backwards. No matter, the swing also opened up the bandit's chest for a kick to the sternum that sent him flying back to cause more stumbling blocks for the rest of the charging men.

*zip was walking Abdul because of their speed; it was a lot nicer than riding him. When they paused and the group of bandits made their demands, the Amentan could feel her heart beating slower with her fear growing. She didn’t need to think to know she wasn’t breathing. She wasn’t holding her breath or anything, just not taking any in or out, her plant would take care of that for now.*

*When they attacked she was glad that Joe seamed to get the bandits which came her way, but she had thought about what happened before a lot on the trip, and she knew for sure these men would hurt her if they were given the chance. She would defend herself if they came at her, she wasn’t sure just how, but her mind was darting back to her training. With the bandits knocked down from the one Joe kicked, and yet still coming, she was sure that they would continue to until one of them died. She didn’t want to die, or any of her friends.*

*With that in mind, she did what she had to do, she had never killed before, but she would before they all came back at them. Using her magic to control the roots below the ground, a handful of sharp roots shot up to impale the one that fell right in his chest. The roots then took fire, killing him if that didn’t. At least that was one less of the killers that were coming after them, she would think of what she had done later, and focused on thickening the air itself around her in hope not to be hurt by projectiles or weapons.*

As she felt the wind flowing through her hair, she became as giddy as a school aged child with a new toy. She had bonded with nightshade(the geldings name), and felt his spirit and strength. As she galloped up to the group, she took note of the bandits, and their sudden appearance and demands. She knew this was going to be an interresting moment in their travels, and dismounted nightshade, then sent him to find cover. Quietly, she snuck in behind her companions, almost perfectly silent, ant took cover behind a large tree. She had smiled at that as it took her a while to perfect that art, and it made her proud. With catlike agility, she lept onto a lower branch of the tree she blended in with, then again to one slightly higher. She stood tall and gathered her energies and focused it on the large group of bandits. As their strike started, she released a small but well focused barrage of lightening strikes on the bandits. Maintaining her focus to continue the strikes, she watched as the first two were struck down easily, but soon she noticed her insane half orc friend being tossed around like a toothy rag doll, while still laughing, (Surely, someone dropped him on his head as a child) and focused the strikes on his very large attacker.

She did not have time to conjure anything strong enough to kill the beast, but her strikes would surly cause him to be weakened, allowing for the rest of her companions to finish the beast off. As she focused more intently on striking the beast, and trying not to laugh as the bolts struck him repedidly in the butt, she however didn't notice that the bandit that did the talking had found his way up the tree and dangerously within reach of her. Before she could defend herself, she felt a hard knock to the head, when everything went black...............

*The lead bandit reached out to grab Safarah's shirt before she fell. The size of the branch threw off his ballance and he missed, and Safarah fell to the ground with a thud alerting the others of her presence. *

*Gus had dropped his fourth bandit with an arrow when he heard the crash behind him. Turning he noticed the movement in the tree above where Safarah's body lay and quickly fired an arrow hitting the bandit in the shoulder and knocking him from the tree as well.*

*Meanwhile Joe looked beside him to see the bandit he had just knocked down being impaled through the chest. With the distraction he was caught off guard by a bandit on his blind side. He sensed the swing only a moment before it connected, attempting to move with the force of the club he still took the brunt of the blow, knocking him to the ground.*

*Tharris had been simply fighting defensively he had dropped a bandit quickly and becuase of this the others seemed to be staying back trying to space him waiting for an opening. They were going to have a long wait, then out of the corner of his eye He saw Joe get hit and go down. Suddenly his vision blurred red, and his mind surged with memories of the many battles he had to take extreme measures to survive. He was moving on auto pilot now he wasn't even watching what was happening it was all a blur of motion and red to him.*

*Others watching might have been startled by the sudden murderous roar let forth from the normally reserved ranger and it seemed as if his entire countenance had changed. No longer was he deftly weaving in and out of range and fighting with the lithe dexterity that everyone was used to seeing. His grip changed and so did his stance, maintaining the roar he ran into the group of bandits before him and then it was nonstop blood. The first bandit he met lost his leg and fell screaming only to have his throat kicked in as Tharris turned to face the one that had just connected with his back using a club thrusting his scimitar through the mans defenses and into his gut he turned to face the next bandit literally ripping the mans gut apart with the twist and slashing motion. Hands down to his side he didnt even bother to block as the man swung his great club at him and took the full force of the blow rolling to the side he came up and killed another of the bandits splitting him from stem to sternum. Then he moved in on the one that had been swinging the great club dropping another bandit by thrusting his sword into thier chest impaling their lung without even flinching, with one sword he went in after the club wieling menace and got knocked down again. This time he came up weilding a scimitar and a knife charging in again he threw his dagger on his way missing his initial target of the mans arm and hitting him in the throat, dropping him to the ground grasping his throat in a futil attempt to keep his life blood. Everyone else in the group had paused and stopped fighting save for maybe feng while he was facing of with the beast to see the spectacle of Tharris going AWOL.*

A low growl escaped his throat as he said to the group "Help Saf and Feng, this one is mine!" calling out the last of the bandits pointing at him with his curved scimitar.

*And then he pulled the blade back and gripped it with both hands just before rushing into the last bandit yelling at the top of his lungs some incohesive babble. The bandit having seen this man single handedly drop six of his friends and take blows that would drop a normal person turned and ran, but Tharris didn't care he caught the man and swung using both hands with everything he had literally cutting the man in half at the waist.*

-=Silence, the scimitar fell from his hand the blood still running down the hilt and stuck in the ground. Tharris paused the red subsided and he could see clearly again seeing the carnage he lifted his arms wincing in pain from the motion. Blood, his hands were covered in blood. *What happened?* was the last thing he thought as he slumped to the ground overcome by the wounds he had sustained. Whispering, he said "Is Joe alright?" and then he saw black, unconscious from the damage received during his furious raging battle.=-

*Feng was enjoying the fight, perhaps a bit too much as he watched the render take several bolts of energy to the rear end. He was laughing quite hard as he turned to thank Safarah, and instead saw her falling to the ground not too far from a fire in front of Zip. The next thing he knew, the ranger had snapped and brutally dispatched a sizeable group of the bandits before he fell from exhaustion. All around the normally cheery half-orc, things were appearing to go wrong, and to make matters worse, the render was recovering.

The time for fun was over, the adrenaline that carried normal fighting reflexes began to surge. In their sockets, fengs eyes went wild as he turned to see the render charging at him once again. As a very angry fighter, the big brown oaf chose to stand his ground. Snapping jaws had finally connected over the armored arm of the half-orc. Feng had held his right arm out, great sword at the ready, and let the beast get a good bite while it could.

A moment later the blade of the sword was protruding from the point where the jaws met, the render shook it's head wildly with pain and attempted to rend the arm holding the blade off the body of it's owner. Feng tensed the muscles in his arm in spite of the blood and the pain, his smile was no longer the happy, goofy, toothy grin he wore from day to day, the grim smile he wore showed a glimpse of what the bull headed lummox had truly been ready for since hearing of the beast on his arm.

The great sword began to turn, alternately opening and closing the jaws slightly, then shifted in angle as the hand holding it let go, the sword locked the jaws shut at the hinge. Reaching up with his off hand to grab the bottom jaw of the render, there was a grunt of effort as the beast began to swing. It made about a quarter circle being flung by it's head before connecting with a few large trees, the render stopped, the arm it's jaws were locked around kept moving. There was a spray of blood as the lower jaw broke in the center, protruding bone ripped open flesh and ripped through the muscle as feng reclaimed his arm. The render tried to call out in pain but couldn't move it's broken jaw even without the great sword in the hinge. Feng placed a foot in the hole his sword had left and used it as leverage to push the beast to the ground completely, an arm defiantly swiped at the half-orc as the armored arms gripped the head of the render. When the arm hit him in the back, the half-orc turned, still holding the head of the beast and looking at his companions. Seeing the wounded, feng grimaced and shifted his weight, turning the head past it's limits and feeling the bones in the neck break. The audible snap signaled the end of the battle and sent a chill up the spine of everyone in earshot.

Feng had yet to glance at the blood flowing down his arm as he reclaimed his sword and walked over to the group:*

"Are youse all ok? 'Ows stumbly an the lil guy who went nuts?"

Joe stood to his feet, clutching his bruised ribs, just in time to see Tharris fall unconscious to the ground. Forgetting the pain, he ran to his friend to check his wounds. It looked like his ribs might be broken, and even have some internal bleeding. crap! His magic wasn't working, why didn't he think to bring some healing potions? Quickly he scanned the ground for any hope, not even thinking to ask the rest of the party if they brought anything along. He'd noticed the blue flowers under the tree that Saf had fell from earlier, if any of those red ones were around- The corner of his eyes did catch something red in the brush just off the path they were traveling. Joe lept to his feet and ran, recognizing the darker red spots on the petals as he approached, he didn't stop, but scooped them up and turned to run to the tree and grab the blue ones from under it. Saf's wounds didn't look quite so severe, he noticed as he was grabbing those flowers, he'd get to her in a minute. In the next moment, Joe was kneeling beside Tharris again, searching threough his bags. These flowers didn't make the most potent healing combination, but they would stabalize Tharris so that Joe could treat him properly. All he needed was a waterskin to make the mixture. His hands found something else instead, a small vial of liquid Joe recognized immediately. It was a potion he had mixed himself and given to his friend, one much more potent than what he was about to make. Idiot he thought to himself, then, not wasting any time he popped the cap off, and lifted Tharris' head, pouring the blue-green liquid into his mouth. It began working instantly, mending bones and tears inside the elf's body. He might remain unconcsious for a bit longer, but his body would heal.

Joe sat back on the ground, calmer now, before realizing he needed to turn his attention to Saf and Feng next. For Saf, he was sure the blue and red flowers would suffice, and he began mixing the proportions once he found a waterskin in Tharris' pack. The sticky purple liquid was harder to swallow, but it still went down her throat ok. In a moment, she should revive with no more than a headache and a few aches.

Then Joe turned to Feng, Joe thought Shumpy'd said something to him earlier, but while he was helping Tharris and Saf, he hadn't heard anything the party might have said. He looked Feng over before saying, "How bad are you hurt?"

((Oi guess its my turn since i came back from mexico :-\ sheesh what a read you guys give too much description :-p))

.:: Gus hopped down from a tree branch were he was happily sharp shooting the bandits.... though after tharris went berzerk he sat and watched the carnage. after the battle was over joe quickly healed everyone for the most part, though if he didnt panic things would have gone more quickly if he had asked Gus for any healing remedies. Though it may be certain that everyone else brought their own supply of medicinal potions. Gus picked up Tharris' scimitarsand placed them in his sheeths. He looked around and thought for a bit thinking that even though they were the enemy they should atleast be put in a hole in the ground or burning setting a pyre to burn the cadavers so that such carnage would not disturb aswell as not attract demons or spirits. but before begining to dig he asked feng to help move the injured to a safer area where they could recover and rest.::

"Feng would you help me move these knuckle heads to another location, we need to get out of this area before any other unwelc.... well before we get in anymore trouble"
.::With that said he procedes to pick up tharris placing him on one shoulder. He helped Joe up with his open arm and offered it to help hold some of the the weight incase joe could not walk properly. As he helped joe he called out to zipcat asking her if she could take safarah knowing that zip was strong of both mind and heart he knew she could handle the task at hand.::

*It seamed like the fight lasted forever, zip was glad that none of her friends died. When she had the courage to move again, she was glad that Joe and the others had kept her safe, but all of them were harmed so much. She knew she could heal people if she was desperate, but even then it was only minor healings.*

*She nodded when Gus recommended for her to watch Safarah, and quickly knelt by her friend. She didn't know how Safarah would be when she woke, but zip was ready to do her best let her know it was alright. The Amentan tried not to think about the bodies being discarded, and what she had done.*

*Coming to Tharris, began to wonder what happened. Last thing he knew he had seen Joe fall then suddenly it was dark and they weren't at the site of the battle anymore. He struggled to sit up and felt the pain in his ribs, but it would subside they needed to continue and get back to Titan soon. Standing up he began to go around making sure everyone was alright completely disregarding the fact that it was infact he who had been knocked unconscious, and took a moment to stop by Feng and congradulate him on his battle. The next morning after everyone had time to rest and his ribs didn't hurt as bad they broke camp and began the second half of the journey.*

"Just another couple days travel and we will be there. These are the lands ruled by people and creatures who serve no master and as such there is little law. You would do well to watch yourself."

*With those grim words he hopped onto his horse and took the lead. For the next few days they traveled although it wasn't like the first leg of their journey. All around them the scenery had changed it wasn't the sunny bright lands they were all familiar with it was dry and dreary. Downright creepy in some areas, but the group hunched down and continued on. Tharris attempting to lighten the mood a bit would occasionally throw out a story he had heard about the area that was lighter than the rest. When camp was made at night guards were posted out actual need in this land rather than before when they were posted out of habit. On the horizon a sharp siloette loomed everyone knew although at least Tharris wasn't going to say it was the castle.*

...((Everyone get a post in describing your thoughts and actions over this leg of the journey. the land is more desolate and dark and creepy.))

While the others made camp and tended to the injured, Joe wandered off in search of more herbs and flowers he could use for healing. Tharris had brough along many potions, but Joe wasn't confident that they would be enough. When he got back, he sat off by himself, mixing the different concoctions as best he could to keep the party as healthy as possible. He then prepared a waterskin for each member, mixed with a few select herbs, that he would give them each on the day they reached the castle. With any luck, it would aid their strength and endurance when they needed it most.

Through the rest of the journey, Joe stayed back from the group. His mind was now on the somber mission ahead, and on the challenges he'd face. For the first time he realized just how much he relied on his magic. Being without it now, the possibility of him not returning weighed heavy on his mind. Still though, he didn't tell the others of his handycap. He needed them not worrying of him if they were to have a chance of succeeding at all.
