:Lemac kept her pace steady and unrushed. There was no real need to be rushed at such a time. She walked the streets, glanceing from window to window, shop to shop. She also made certin that thouse wanting to follow her would have no problem doing so, or atleast not yet as the streets where clearing out as familes where heading home to eat there evening meals. Lemac came to the center of the market plaza and stoped ot sit on the edge of the fountain, splashing at the water with her hand ever so slightly.:

Joe entered the room quietly, taking a seat in the back. The large circular room was tiered, with rich colored pillows laid out for the patrons to sit on. The walls of the room were decorated with the same bold colors, emphasizing reds and golds. Joe recognized Tordek imediately, standing in the center, speaking to the full room. The lecture was just winding down as Joe entered, and he only had to wait a few minutes before the classroom began to clear.

As the last student shook hands with Tordek and turned to leave, Joe finally stood from his seat and approached the elf. "I'm glad you were in town." he said as he descended the steps, "I've come upon a matter that I think your particular skills may have some use, if I may trouble you of course."

Seeing as there were few who could manipulate song and performance into displays of magic anywhere in the realms, Tordek had been asked to give a lecture on such. Like most things with him, this was an informal lecture, held in the afternoon, making attendance relatively optional.

Gathering his supplies, he caught Joe's descent from the upper levels of the auditorium.

"Skills? Ha! I can gamble and lose my money to swine like the best of 'em - and maybe get a bit drunk too while I'm doing it."

As he finishes gathering his things, he prepares to walk out the door, taking a few steps towards the exit.

"Well come on. We can walk and talk."

"Those aren't the particular skills I was referring to." Joe said as he followed Tordek to the door. "I have heard rumors of a rash of bandit attacks on the road between Lighthaven and Cartes. Yesterday while I was walking in the woods near the road, I came across one. A couple of the travelers were killed as well as all the bandits, save one, who vanished into thin air when I arrived. From what I got from the passangers of the carraige that was attacked, they were looking for something specific, but never said what it was. I'm not one to beat around the bush, and I'm afraid the trail is growing rapidly cold. I know you have your hand in certain areas of society that might be usefull to find out about these attacks and what the thieves are looking for, maybe give me an idea of where to look next. I have a feeling this is no small thing they are after, and I worry of the safety of Titan."

"This is troubling. Don't you think that you should be talking to Curulan though instead of me? I'm not quite sure of what I could tell you here. You have some funny notions about me, Master Joe. While it's true I've caused a bit of mayhem in my younger years, I'm not quite sure why you would think I would know anything about bandits. I'm as surprised as you are."

Milton was battering the reasons he was pulled into something he hadn’t agreed on. It was odd how his mind kept going to the pointless fight. He buried it, refusing to deal with it any longer. Why stress it.

Getting rid of it for good he put all of the blame on the lass. It was her suggestion to fight the unnecessary. Joe was just too much of a goody good to use logic.

When James rubbed against his leg with a look of hunger, Milton searched his robes. Had he a coin he could have suggested they waited. Pulling out a mostly hard biscuit he ripped it open and picked out the soft innards to offer them the wolfboy along with part of the outside. He was growing hungry and munched on the rest.

Had he gone his way he could have had food.

Later, as he distantly followed the woman with James, his stomach gave the woman on the fountain more blame. Not wanting to be in such a woman’s debt, he pulled out his last biscuit and split it with James as before.

James' tongue shot out happily as he saw Milton pull something strange and foreign to the boy. A biscuit was something he'd never seen before. Nevertheless, he recognized it was food and gladly took the piece offered to him. When he was done the wolf gave Milton an appreciative lick on his hand, then, turning to his own notions, began scratching himself vicariously.

The wolf followed Milton about in a mildly attentive manner. He felt lazy and a little tired and it was obvious that he didn't care much to pay attention to much at the moment except what caught his eyes. A few birds in the air shot out at one point and the wolf watched as they disappeared into dots through the sky. After the short trip he noticed that they had caught up with the woman from before, but in his current mood James once again cared little. When Milton stopped, James scratched his ear one more time, then realized Milton was handing him another piece of food. Enjoying the last piece he had gotten, James grasped the piece of biscuit handed to him and chowed down. Delicious.

:Lemac looked to sky and realized that she should eat. There was to much on her mind, but she needed to eat for two after all. With out thinking she pulled the hood of her cloak back to show who she was. Long red hair flowed down her back, she smiled as she stood and crossed the fountain square to sit at a local eating establishment, 'Curulan's Folley'. The hostess smiled and lead Lemac to an outside table. Lemac quickly made her order for dinner and waited for it to arive. She looked toward the pair that was following her, never stoping to make eye contact with them, but rather some one behind them. She raised her hand in greating then returned back to waiting for her meal.:

"Ha! Sometimes I think Curulan turns too many a blind eye when it comes to the underbelly of Titan. Aside from that, as mayor of Lighthaven, surely you do keep well informed yourself on the darker side of your own city, but, I can see you are not eager to let your secrets be known. Well, I'll be meeting up with a few friends at the Golden Griffon in just a few hours to see what we can do about this current problem. I am trying to keep it low profile for now until we find out what is going on. If you decide you can trust me, perhaps you'll join us, maybe I'll let you in on some other 'funny notions' I have."

As soon as her hood came off Milton’s face twisted with emotions that faded just as quickly. He had seen this woman before, in the tavern. She had asked about him and gotten answers then. The red hair, her figure, the way she walked, and even her pregnancy gave it away. Milton wasn’t one to forget things about people while he watched them.

That he had seen her before wasn’t the problem. It was that she messed up. Either that or she was retarded; she may have slipped as well.

James may not have been paying much attention before and when she slipped, but Milton looked at James in a way that asked if the boy saw and realized what he did.

For now though she was nothing but a fake. He almost wanted to grab her and shake her until she gave up. One mistake was well enough for Milton.

When he saw her wave from her place, he bowed his head slightly and finished his biscuit.

Only then would he move to the fountain, knowing the noise of it would be enough to block whispers. That and he had something that needed cleaning.

:Lemac looked back towards the fountain and looked about those gathered there. She smiled as she locked her gaze with Milton. Once again she waved, this time to them and followed the wave with a 'come and join me' gesture. She could tell by what they where eating that they could use a real meal on there stomac.:

"A blind eye? Bit impetuous of you to say that about him, isn't it?...

Now as for the social occasion, I thank you, but I have some further things I should be taking care of. Tell you what though: I can look into it. It might take me a few days or so, but I can see what I can dig up. In the meantime, try not to get into any trouble...by the sounds of this, it could be somewhat serious, and if so...slightly dangerous. They could simply just be bandits though trying to make a quick buck. Why don't you check the merchant logs to see what items were coming in that day? There might have been something of importance scheduled to come in."

"Hmm, ok. I suppose I can slow this chase down after all. I'll take your advice and check the merchant logs. Thanks for your time." Joe said, then turned to leave. Out of the building he looked to the sky. "Damn, I'm running late." Joe headed straight for the tavern to meet up with the rest. He didn't have the information he wanted, but at least he might have some help. He walked into the tavern and looked around for the others.

(((ooc it seems we are on slightly different timelines, so I'm just going to wait until you all catch up to the tavern now)))

OOC: just going to skip over the dinner thing.

:Lemac looked about the tavern, her travel cloak hung on the back of the chair she was sitting at. She realized that Joe would not approch her, he was looking for someone else. Lemac stood and approched Joe. She spoke in the same tone she used as guise of Morning Star Macht.:

"Master Joe, when last we crossed paths, I introduced myself as Morning Start Macht...."

:Lemac drop the false tone in her voice and returned to her natural voice.:

"I apoligise for the falsehood, but at the time I felt it nessary. But such time is behind us. Come join me as we wait for the others to arive."

:Lemac lead Joe back to her table and sat down.:

For a short time, James followed Milton about the city with whatever business he had, but soon thereafter they came across that woman they had met before. When Milton looked at James, the wolf responded his face with a blatantly unresponsive blink that noted his current lazy and uncaring mood. After, Milton moved towards the woman and, growing bored, James decided to sniff out Joe.

In a matter of minutes, James found the man's scent and followed him to a tavern. The door was closed, so the wolfwere waited for some random person to open it, which they eventually did. With secrecy he moved into the tavern and found there to be a wonderful fireplace lit a ways away from him. He plodded over to it and lay himself down next to it, disregarding all others inside the tavern with a casual impassiveness as though he had been here several times before.
