that's the easy way out. if you want to keep it cursed but remove it from your body, put flames on it, then go fight a worm. when the worm swallows it, kill his @$$ and take it back. then you have an unequipped cursed item that you can trade to random collectors who like such things.

By the way, you can always lose something from the worm. Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but you can lose it. It can run away with your stuff.

Kinda cheesy, but always good to avoid.
