There used to be a message board in the tavern where you could post messages or help a new player or even "adopt" them and send them money to help them out or items. It made the game a bit more fun because it was almost like you had a friend at the end of the line, rooting for you.

I remember that. Fred took it out because it ended up using more server resources/bandwidth than the game itself. We still have the old Towne Square chat, though.
