Pluto is totally NOT a planet.

Have a seat, have a drink, walk among friends, all of this can be done in the Golden Griffon, Titan's official tavern.

Well, the reason Pluto lost out was not only due to its diminuitive size, but the fact that its orbit was heavily affected by others'. It wasn't able to control other orbits as much as they controlled it, so it's considered too small in its own area of the system to be a planet.

By the definition of planet, Jupiter could have a moon the size of Earth, and have that moon not be a planet due to Jupiter controlling its orbit more than the sun, or its control of Jupiter's orbit.

But if Pluto's orbit were affected by another planet more than the sun (i.e. Uranus) wouldn't it have moved close enough to get caught in orbit of one of those planets and become a moon?

I'm sure there's a long mathematical story somewhere explaining that the orbit of Pluto is getting closer and closer to doing just that, but still :p

Even if it is effected by other planets, it still has maintained its own orbit for...all those billions of years, no? There must be some counteracting force to keep it moving on its own orbit, no?

Probably its own moon, or some extrasolar object. Regardless, Neptune does so much to it that it gets too much turbulence.

I mean, think of Pluto as a plane. You wouldn't fly on a plane with GUARANTEED turbulence. It's not a plane, it's a deathtrap. So, add a "t" to the plane, and that's planet. Which it's also not.

Oooh. I like the add a 't' part. I've definitely sided with Ominous now. Pluto is NOT a planet!

wow. that is singlehandedly the worst argument I've ever heard for Pluto not being a planet. I'm amending my vote as well, I still say it's a planet.

I think the Lord or Evolution got that point too..notice how it's strangely devoid of life? Like..all the other planets in our solar system :p
