Ok guys. This will be my first time ever outside the USA.

In less than 1 1/2 months, me and my wife will be flying to the Philippines to visit her family. My wife is going to try and take me to as many tourist sites as possible, plus we will be having another wedding there so that her family can attend.

One thing to note. Yes, my wife is WAYWAY shorter than me (I am 6' 3", she is 4' 11"). Since most of her family is in the 5' 5" or shorter range, I will probably stand out while I am there.

Will let you know how the old big guy does on this foreign soil and how amazing the tourist locations are.

Try the pig-ear-- it's actually tasty, though you kinda have to expect the chewy-crunchyness. The sauce is delicious.

... and I hope you like rice!

Have fun, big guy! =)

Currently I have been married going on 1 1/2 years so I have gotten use to rice. Every meal must have rice.

Hahahahaha Twist.

Some of the foods my wife won't even eat in the Philippines and she lived there 28 years before coming to USA

Will see what I can do to get some pics up here when I get back.

My wife has taught me a few phrases in Tagalog, but I have a hard time pronouncing some of the words. My wife also speaks Illicano (hope I spelled that correct) and I have learned a few phrases in that to. I figure by the time I get back I will know many phrases in both langauges.

My wife currently speaks English, Tagalog, and Illicano. She speaks some Mainland Spanish and French. She understands 2 other Filipino languages but cannot speak them. Then she knows some phrases in German, Japanese, and who knows what else. I only wish I could speak that many languages.

We leave in 10 more days... wooo!

We will be in Greater Manilla. Manilla, Quezon City are ones I remember. We will also be visiting 100 Islands. My wife gave me a long list, but I am old and can't remember them.

Some funny notes:

We had to ship an air bed to the Philippines for me. Otherwise, my legs will be hanging off the normal bed by at least a foot.

Almost all door frames are 6 foot or shorter, guess who has to get use to ducking everywhere.
