Hi:

I read a lot about history: Celtic, Brythonic and mostly Roman. Is there anyone in the clan, intelligent enough to translate this for me? I know this is completely different from the usual posts in the answers forum, as it is not game related, but it is a little vice of mine, so I ask a little indulgence!? Well, I am looking for an answer of sorts! If anyone can help, please do, as your attention will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks...

Scorchas.

Legio I Germanica = "First Legion Germanic"

Is that what you were wanting to know?? :?:

I wanted to know what each legion meant. I know Rapax is predator, Victrix is victorious, Primigenia is first-born and I think Ferrata is ironclad. Just a general translation of each of the Legions...if that is possible.

This should go in the Griffon, as HoA is specifically for DC questions.

Um, well, for Legio III Cyrenaica it would be "The Third Legion of Cyrenaica" after the eastern regional coast of Libya (a Roman province between Egypt and Numidia). Is that the kind of answer you were looking for Scorchas? Sorry I'm not much help....

It's a simple internet search. There are plenty of sites devoted to the roman legions. You can also try wikipedia for an overview:

Cool! Thanks, Curu. And to think - I spent ~$100 on a Thompson Bible with a cover to protect it....jeez. At least it doesn't collect dust like our "Family Bible" (the huge one that almost every old couple has in their home on the coffee table)
