Good pointe, BlueRose!! That made me laugh!! I must agree that sometimes I wish I were a single guy going through college, but then I remember what joy my girls bring into my life - I could NEVER live without them! (I thank God every single day for giving me such a great family (especially thanking Him for a kind wife who doesn't nag me much - yet)).

And, no - I'm definitely not offended - it's pretty hard to offend me (just accuse me of being an Anti-Armerican AlQaeda-supporting Spam-sponsoring Fun-hating Aesthetic Athiest <--- worst-case scenario). That was pretty funny, Bow, though I'm sure you mean it in only a fun sort of way (I will have to put that in my memory for later use, lol). Thanks for the laughs!!

They certainly shouldn't be scared - on the contrary, they should respect your decision to not have any children (I'm guessing that's what you mean, right?) - you would be the one having them, for the record :p. BTW, I guess you are the biggest proponent.

Actually, the statement is somethng of a front and a joke (so is my PM answer). Reason being, if I say I'm thinking about having kids later, the in-laws and everyone else would pester me saying, "When are you going to have kids?" Of course, my favorite book "Baby NOT on Board" (yes, it's an actual book)... they have several witty and fun answers to that question. For example: When are you going to mind your own damn business? OR... When Minivans are hot and stretchmarks are sexy.

I won't have kids 'till I'm in my 30's or my husband knocks me up. Right now, I'm enjoying my 20's. I'm enjoying my job... and the quality time I get to spend with my signifcant other (*coff training him coff*). That and, of course, we can't afford kids right now. I make all the money and if I get laid up in bed for a couple months, we can't pay the rent even with just my LTD and/or STD benefits. Not only that, but I'm selfish and don't want to take care of a little parasite of my own... I mean bundle of joy.

For now... I really do hate babies... but maybe some time before I'm a shriveled husk of a woman my motherly instincts will kick in and I'll yearn to sport my own spawn (Ha, yeah right!)... 'till then, you know my stance. =)

Yeah, okay, sure, whatever, Jade. I don't mind you not having kids - that's your own prerogative. Many women decide not to have children and that's quite alright. I'm just glad some women, like my wife, do decide to have children or else the world might cease to exist. I have my opinion and you have yours - let's keep it a that (you could start your own thread about baby hatin').

You shouldn't take everything you read so seriously. I don't have time to discuss semantics either.... but if you didn't want my comment, which was meant as a stand-alone retort, to be discussed further, wouldn't it have been a safer recourse to stear clear of any response whatsoever? If you ask a question, I'll answer. If you misinterpret, I will attempt to correct you. Whatever comments you make direct the conversation to other areas-- If you're so interested in why I'd make such a comment, why didn't you create your own thread to ask me why I (figuritively) hate babies and spare your thread?

I know you're excited. I am happy for you... really. That doesn't mean I have to coddle and coo.

You're right. It doesn't matter what other people think... even you. I'm going to do what I want anyway.

Congrats... and may your kids be JUST LIKE YOU. *nefarious grin*
